Boost Mobile Voicemail & Message Backup Guide

Boost Mobile deletes voicemail and message data after account closure — here's how to save it. Preserve your important communications before switching carriers or canceling service.

Save Voicemails

Method 1: Forward to Email

Call your voicemail box and forward recordings to an email app.

Steps:
1. Call your voicemail (hold "1" key)
2. Play the message you want to save
3. Look for "Forward" or "Share" option
4. Send to your email address

Method 2: Phone Recording

Some phones allow "Share → Save to Files" for voicemail recordings.

iPhone: Visual Voicemail → Tap message → Share button → Save to Files
Android: Voicemail app → Long press message → Export or Share

Method 3: External Recording

Use another device to record important voicemails played through speakerphone.

Save Texts

Built-in Export Features

Use built-in export features (Android Messages → Settings → Export).

Android Messages:
Settings → Chat features → Export messages → Select conversations → Export

Third-Party Backup Apps

Or use a third-party backup app like SMS Backup & Restore.

Popular Apps:
• SMS Backup & Restore (Android)
• iMazing (iPhone)
• 3uTools (iPhone)
• Dr.Fone (Both platforms)

Screenshot Method

For important individual messages, take screenshots and save to cloud storage.

Important Notes

⚠️ Act quickly: Boost Mobile deletes all data immediately after account closure.

⚠️ No recovery: Once deleted, voicemails and messages cannot be recovered.

⚠️ Porting doesn't transfer: Data doesn't automatically move to your new carrier.

⚠️ Plan ahead: Start backing up before initiating any account changes.

Pro Tips

💡 Set up automatic cloud backup for future messages on your new carrier.

💡 Export contacts separately — they're not included in message backups.

💡 Test your backup files to ensure they're readable before canceling service.

💡 Consider using Google Messages or iMessage for automatic cloud sync going forward.
